Robert Doyle Scholarship Fund
In honor of Minister Robert Doyle Sr, "God's Songbird".
The “Minister Robert Doyle, Sr.” Scholarship Program (RD Scholarship) was established in honor of the late Minister Robert Doyle, Sr.
Minister Robert Doyle, Sr. was raised in a Christian home by Deacon Edward and Rosa Doyle of Austin, Texas. He was raised with seven other siblings. At a young age his compassion and love for others moved him to ask his parent's permission for a ninth child to live with the family. Min. Doyle was married for over 33 years to Camera Joyce Doyle. He was a father who loved him children; and tried to give his best. He answered God's call to preach on March 4, 1990 at True Light Baptist Church. Min. Doyle spent 11 years in the Armed Services and 26 years with the City of Austin, Street and Bridge Department. He was a faithful hard worker. His influence and love for people enabled him to touched hundreds of lives for Christ even in his death.
Min. Robert Doyle Sr. was a gifted singer, and he put his gift to good use as he sang for the Lord. When he sang the anointing of God was upon him. He used his gift to reach people and to express his love for Christ. He was a youthful, happy, and joyful man. He was known as a compassionate man, even in his days prior to working in the ministry. Min. Doyle would give his last; a giver that never worried about getting back what he gave.
It is our privilege to give honorable recognition to the late Minister Robert Doyle Sr. for his service in God's ministry through Greater Works Baptist Church and all around the Austin Metro area. Min. Doyle was a man that loved the Lord Jesus as his personal Savior. He was busy about "Greater Works" as he ministered the gospel and served God's people. He was a soul winner in the Outreach Ministry, Street Ministry, Care Ministry, Men Ministry, Chemical Dependency Ministry, Prison Ministry, and Youth Ministry. He also touched many lives through Mass Choir, Male Chorus, Minister's Conference, Building Maintenance, Church construction (heavy equipment operator), Church Construction Overseer, Church Lawn Maintenance, a great help to his Pastor, and he was a cheerful giver and faithful tither to his church.
